There is a very high chance that using the new fighter Piranha Plant in All-Star mode in Smash Bros. Ultimate will cause your entire game’s save data to become corrupt and cause it to entirely reset your progress. There are many sources saying that people have lost hundreds of hours due to this issue. This means all fighters will need to be re-unlocked, World of Light saves will be lost, and so on. It has yet to be fixed. I’ll update this with more details as they appear.
Edit: It has been reported that using Mii swordfighter and Duck hunt in Century Smash may bring the same result.
Cloud save your files just in case!
Edit 2: Apparently Nintendo is not holding themselves accountble, blaming it on the sd card. Which. Doesn’t exactly hold saves. So there’s the weekly supply of ‘corporate bullcrap’.
